Also, considering stormtroopers, they're pretty crap at shooting to begin with in the movies, so having a gun with a trajectory would be terrifying.

I'd like to add that blaster bolts are still viable against Jedi sometimes, demonstrated by Jango Fett killing a Jedi with a blaster pistol

There were essentially no Jedi by the time of the Empire in Episodes 4-6.
Why would they need to adapt to fight force-users with lightsabers if there were no force-users with lightsabers.

because I'm pretty sure that 1 jedi can't take out a full droid army, if they could why didnt they just send one to help the gungans?

also I think they couldn't get the money to research weapons to kill a singular Jedi, since the empire was at war with the rebel alliance

Also about the storm troopers missing their target, apparel the troops that stormed the ship were the Marines, which are much much better then your norm Storm trooper
