Author Topic: Jairo's Vassals and Vandals RP - A MOST HOLY ENDEAVOR! DOWN WITH THE KHANATE!  (Read 24266 times)

I'll add you in when I wake up tomorrow
if you're a mercenary you can still peddle goods from town to town, but you can't exclusively be a merchant (otherwise you'd die very quickly due to bandits)
I would dispute this but then rules!
:^)

you didnt account for me attending to wounded and checking what loot i got

By daylight, arm men and do the last action:
Although your cause is noble, you fumble your words and alienate yourself from the more well equipped villagers of Dulk. Nevertheless, you recruit 3 untrained footmen (melee).

Before locking up for rest, you spend some time training with your men, bringing your 3 untrained footmen (melee) into the ranks of your 4 other trained footmen (melee)

As Adalwolf turns up to the village he heads up to the local town center and looks for any jobs available or help needed.
The town elder tells you of a ruthless bandit leader named Walhaz roaming in the nearby woods. He recently stole some of the town's cattle and wheat. You are disastrously outmatched against him, however, and so 16 untrained footmen (melee) join you to resist.

I would dispute this but then rules!

check out rule 14

you didnt account for me attending to wounded and checking what loot i got
Your men finish pulling crossbow bolts out from their abdomens and legs by sunrise, quickly recovering from their wounds. You and the captured bandit horse, on the other hand, are still fairly injured and will have to sit out if another battle commences, lest you risk losing your life. Your looting brings a fair amount of goods and a fair surplus of poorly made weapons, making a financial cushion more than enough to cover a stay in Suwailim. Your party escorts you west.

Tu Li:

Action 1: Train men for until afternoon.

Action 2: Head to Gobi to recruit men from the tavern/slums.
alternative: If we cannot reach Gobi, set up a camp midway.

Action 3: Train men some more.

Action 4: Rest.

Action 1: Train men for until afternoon.

Action 3: Train men some more.
You constantly drill your men any time you're stopped. Your footmen become more experienced with hand-to-hand situations and your mounted archers with firing accurately.

Tu Li has acquired the Encouraging trait.

Action 2: Head to Gobi to recruit men from the tavern/slums.
alternative: If we cannot reach Gobi, set up a camp midway.
You give an empowering speech to the patrons in the tavern, convincing 13 of them to join you (13 untrained footmen).

While giving your speech, Chimbai Khan overhears you and approaches.
Chimbai Khan: Ah, yes. The bastard's son. I hold disdain for you but I've nowhere else to turn. Leaders are scarce now in the Khanate, and we need able men to resist the Tebessan pigs. Will you join our cause? Mercenary or vassal, we need to drive them out.

chill until suwailim
After arriving and resting in Suwailim, your entire party is ready for combat. A town crier hands you a pamphlet detailing mercenary work in defending the homeland so Tebessa's vassals may commit their efforts elsewhere.

Bedri Hussein has laid siege to Tatuahe Camp.

is there an established universal currency or naw
it's just referred to as gold

Muamed takes the pamphlet and thinks on it. He heads to the taverns to recruit men and then to the markets to sell excess loot. After that is taken care of, needed food/water is purchased and the money that remains after hiring and buying supplies is used to outfit the troops and himself.

Kaiki attends to the marketplaces of Basileus (will check spelling) to look for goods or commodities to re-sell elsewhere at a higher price.

In case it wasn't implied, get a boat and arrows for all two rangers. Finally, set sail!

Are there minor villages along the coast?

Enter Marsellus Draco, trained crossbowman, money-minded mercenary, (aspiring?) siege engineer.

Draco is a small man of Carpaccian origin. He is an entrepreneur of sorts from his upbringing and has training between crossbow and siege engines(?). Draco is above average for a crossbowman, but is not competent in hand to hand. He cannot shoot from beasts of burden as well as he can shoot while on foot.

Behavior wise the man could be called cowardly in some cases, he would rather fight another day than sacrifice himself or his assets. He thinks along the empirical lines of cost mitigation and economic benefit. Draco would prefer not to fight directly on the front lines, but rather coordinate from behind, keeping the bigger picture in mind.

He has a grasp on ranged tactics but has little grasp on melee combat tactics. Draco also has an impressive understanding of engineering.

Your reputation precedes you. Your speech convinces a total of 10 men to join you. Of the 10, one of them is a scout. With him in your warband, you may collect information on enemy warband composition and imminent danger. The other nine men are untrained spearmen.

Your haul in the market is bountiful, and your warband is anxious to hunt down Mughadei Khan.

Kaiki attends to the marketplaces of Basileus (will check spelling) to look for goods or commodities to re-sell elsewhere at a higher price.
Kaiki's intuition gives him an impressive edge over his competition. He overhears foreign caravans talking about taking dyes from Basileus and bringing them to Tarmoth for a nifty profit.

In case it wasn't implied, get a boat and arrows for all two rangers. Finally, set sail!
Before setting off, one of your men reminds you of the message delivered to you.

Are there minor villages along the coast?
most small villages are marked on the map with a small dot

unaffiliated or unincorporated communities do exist (unmarked), and raider camps are such communities

Enter Marsellus Draco, trained crossbowman, money-minded mercenary, (aspiring?) siege engineer.

Villagers in Perth have heard rumors about border tension between the Pact and the Masovian Empire. As the most far-flung of the Pact's fiefdoms, they fear the worst.

The town elder tells you of a ruthless bandit leader named Walhaz roaming in the nearby woods. He recently stole some of the town's cattle and wheat. You are disastrously outmatched against him, however, and so 16 untrained footmen (melee) join you to resist.

I ask how well armed his group is and how many men he seems to have, I also inquire how much cattle and resources are left.

I ask how well armed his group is and how many men he seems to have
Trost Village Elder: Walhaz is no fool. He never moves with more than 15 or 20 men at a time to avoid attracting His Majesty's attention, however, his organized network of thugs have so many hidden bases that he is never without double that--or more--in reserve. You may have encountered one of these enclaves on your way in here. His men are fierce, and are mostly composed of exiled sharpshooters. They'd rather die than surrender.

I also inquire how much cattle and resources are left.
Trost Village Elder: We have enough to survive another cycle, but not beyond that. I've already advised our laborers to work on rebuilding our destroyed farms and pens despite the threat of Walhaz returning.

We'll help you rebuild while I think on the matter with some of my men, I'll see what I can do about him soon.
