Author Topic: Jairo's Vassals and Vandals RP - A MOST HOLY ENDEAVOR! DOWN WITH THE KHANATE!  (Read 24260 times)

Kaiki's intuition gives him an impressive edge over his competition. He overhears foreign caravans talking about taking dyes from Basileus and bringing them to Tarmoth for a nifty profit.
Continue overhearing where they will buy the dyes and find out which guild these traders are affiliated with.

Marsellus goes about looking for work in Basileus.

Muamed sends one of his men as well as two of the local recruits to ask around. An Ogden in Suwailim ought to attract attention, especially someone as prominent as a Khan. Have them ask the men in the market and the taverns about any Ogden, especially suspicious, or shady merchants and caravans. He sends another three to steak out the market area for what was mentioned above, and the rest of the party, including him, go to the various taverns for the same reason.

You constantly drill your men any time you're stopped. Your footmen become more experienced with hand-to-hand situations and your mounted archers with firing accurately.

Tu Li has acquired the Encouraging trait.
You give an empowering speech to the patrons in the tavern, convincing 13 of them to join you (13 untrained footmen).

While giving your speech, Chimbai Khan overhears you and approaches.
Chimbai Khan: Ah, yes. The bastard's son. I hold disdain for you but I've nowhere else to turn. Leaders are scarce now in the Khanate, and we need able men to resist the Tebessan pigs. Will you join our cause? Mercenary or vassal, we need to drive them out.

Bedri Hussein has laid siege to Tatuahe Camp.

Tu Li: "Alright, I will take up the pledge. I assume with the recent news of the upcoming siege in Tatuahe Camp, we will be needed there?"

Tu Li takes up the pledge of allegiance to the Ogden Khanate, becoming under the name "Tu Khan." (or idk is that what happened when someone pledged allegiance to khanates, or do i keep my name)

They are members of the Mezzanine Confederacy, a multinational trade guild which deals in all sorts of goods on the Carpaccian-Narvik-Ogdenian island. They plan to buy the dyes from a local vendor in Basileus.

Marsellus goes about looking for work in Basileus.
A town crier slaps you in the chest with a pamphlet from His Majesty requesting able-bodied men to enlist against the Agivnese and Masovian dogs. You take the paper and enter a local tavern to learn of any additional jobs, and hear about a particular Walharz, leader of an infamous organized bandit group to the northwest.

Adalwolf Braunau receives a letter of bounty from His Majesty regarding the infamous Walharz. It appears the bandit-king has overstepped his boundaries and done something to incur the eye of Tiberius the Avaricious.

Your sentries rush back to you, saying that he has recently departed from Suwailim. Stallowners in the market recall his warband stealing food and drink before evading local enforcement. Several tavernkeeps believe he's heading to a village sympathetic to him, a certain Kashmir to the southwest. It will be tough catching him if he runs away again due to his entire warband being on horses.

Tu Li: "Alright, I will take up the pledge. I assume with the recent news of the upcoming siege in Tatuahe Camp, we will be needed there?"
Chimbai Khan: Bulgar Khan will be catching up to us soon enough, so it's up to us to act as vanguard and either break the siege or halt the Tebessan advance. You have more troops than I, so I'll hand the decision to you.

Tu Li has acquired the Khan trait.
Tu Li will now be known as Tu Khan unless he renounces his vassalship to the Khanate.

Bulgar Khan has received news of your pledge, and so he has granted you the fief of your home village, Karak.

Muamed quickly gathers his party. At the market, he stops and buys spears and/or pikes to outfit his footmen with, and then heads to Kashmir with haste. The filthy Ogden coward must not escape. Mercenary work can wait.

Inquire with the traders about gaining employment with the Mezzanine Confed.

OOC:
Are there any other guilds besides that

Your men are fleet-footed; you force march southwest to Kashmir. As you begin the approach with the village in view, your party briefly stops to catch their breath.

Inquire with the traders about gaining employment with the Mezzanine Confed.
The traders scoff at your supposed poverty, instead suggesting you look for employment in the fields.

Jarl Harald the Guillotine: Looks like a war against the Masovians was not my decision to make. I suppose now would be a good time to review your allegiance and become a full-time vassal. What do you say?

I'm still making the list but here's a few more off the top of my head:
Austral Trading Company (deals in dyes, gems, silks, and salt; located in the Tebessa Caliphate)
Forrester Guild (deals in lumber, furs, and dyes; located in Carpaccian Empire)
Merchant Guild (deals in trade routes, pricing, etc.; located in Kingdom of Avignon)
Septentrion Caravansary (deals in all food products; located in Holy Coventry Pact)

Jarl Harald the Guillotine: Looks like a war against the Masovians was not my decision to make. I suppose now would be a good time to review your allegiance and become a full-time vassal. What do you say?
Seems like a deal!

Do my men have any last minute qualms before we depart? Are there any other armies/fleets we ought to meet up with?

Seems like a deal!
Jarl Harald the Guillotine has bestowed the fief of Gork unto you.

Do my men have any last minute qualms before we depart? Are there any other armies/fleets we ought to meet up with?
No qualms, just excitement. You have everything you need to depart.

Muamed stops the party a ways outside of town and rests. He sends the scout to poke around and see if the Khan is there, and if he is, where. In the mean time, he shows his party how to properly defend (and attack) horse archers. If all goes to plan, they will use the cover of night and the buildings in the village to defeat any advantage they could have in open ground, and then skewer the kuffar filth on their spear points.

Tu Khan will be heading to Tutache Camp to hold off the siege.

When arriving at Tutache, train the 13 men I recruited.

Set sail for the Peninsula! Explore the coast of little island where the cursor is, looking for any small villages.

Inquire with the Mezzanine traders for employment with them.
