The hipster in me enjoys Blockland because in a sea of recent sandbox building games, it remains the OG super niche internet lego simulator.

Secondly the community is so anarchistic and silly that I love it.

Third it has ascii terror in it

to take a step away from what everyone else is saying, nothing. I don't play the game anymore. I dunno, it's not that I don't like it. messing around with events is fun, but as cool as they are, playing with events alone isn't gonna keep me interested in the game
when I do play the game these days, and that's very rarely (in fact it's impossible now, because of my poor internet connection), it's just to spend time with friends
occasionally I open the game to test something, so steam isn't very accurate when it comes to the last time I played

It's a good building game, with anything like it not being as good in my opinion. Even though I'm not seen playing the game much at the moment, I'm sure as hell not done with it.
