you launch from a safety bubble at the same ksc which basically means there's a certain range to go from the ksc before players start to see your ship

You just put in the IP of the server and you join.  Right now the main DMP server is still down so I usually host a temporary DMP server for the forums until the main one is up.

EDIT:
I'm hosting right now if anyone wants to join.  The IP should be the same as yesterday.
