Author Topic: Would you buy a phone with a non removable battery?  (Read 1956 times)

Hey bro I've explored every possible option and did research before doing this stuff. I just never dealt with a non removable batter before.

Phones aren't like computers, sometimes even holding down the power button won't respond. You should know that.

Also I take pride in knowing that the electronic section in my walmart is falling apart without me there, lol.

I realize you're trolling but regardless you are the kind of person that my coworkers and I on a daily basis make fun of because of how stupid you are.

Phone are literally miniature computers. Their architecture isn't remotely similar to that of a desktop, but that doesn't imply that holding the power button won't work if the phone's ROM freezes up internally, it's entirely possible (and quite frankly likely) for it to be controlled on the hardware level, something which wouldn't be affected by the ROM screwing up. (I've thankfully never had this happen though so I've never had to find out for myself.)

If the Walmart tech department was struggling so much without you, you would know this is pure conjecture and is 100% false.
Hold down the power button ya mung and everything will be ok.

I was doing all the work because we have 3 idiotic people on our staff. I quit. There is a reason I quit. The Pitch Perfect 2 story is just 1 of many examples.

I'm aware holding down the power button until it restarts may work. However there is also a small chance it won't work, which is what I basically said. It doesn't have a 100% chance of working.

It also depends on what phone. Some phones require you to hold down the power and home button at the same time.

I'm pessimistic when it comes to technology.

If the Walmart tech department

Walmart technical support is not an actual job code and employees aren't suppose to do technical support. I do it anyways because I fix whatever my employees can't do and I get tips under the table for it.

I had a factory refurbished iPhone 4s and it's battery went to stuff. It would die when it was at like 20% randomly. I recently acquired an android with a removable battery. Highly recommend it.
this happened to me a lot with my old galaxy s3

Jesus, could you make more threads?

I also bought a phone with a built in battery at walmart just to take it apart to see how the stuff works. The battery started smoking.

I returned it for a full refund. Despite the sticker underneath that said "void void void void void" under it when taken apart. lol

no removable battery means you are basically forgeted if your phone comes in contact with water
iphones are water resistant iirc
they just dont advertise that otherwise youll get dumbasses submerging them in water thinking that water resistant means its water proof

I had customers hand me a phone case asking if it's water proof.

All I do is read the box and see where it says "water resistant" and I tell them resistant means it's safe from rain or shallow puddles but don't loving submerge it in a pool. lol. How is that hard to understand?

I think my phone does actually have a hard reset hole

Any competent technology developer should include that tiny hard reset hole if every other method fails

if youre going to assume everything else fails, why would the "hard reset" work every time? it may work. However there is also a small chance it won't work, which is what you basically said. it doesn't have a 100% chance of working.

yes and my battery is pretty janky which is very annoying

Then the device is 100% crapped out.
