i think duchovny said that he and scully weren't really ready to get right back into acting for 21 hour long episode seasons again
they're old folk now

I always had a bit of a crush on Scully. How is she in this series, the same?

Well, if you've seen Temperance from Bones, or Hillary Clinton in Anything,

about the same.

I always had a bit of a crush on Scully.

same, she was p hot, still is

I'm enjoying the plot so far but everything feels a bit rushed (probably cause there's only six episodes to the series) and Duchovny and Anderson's age is definitely showing as their acting has become pretty wooden (ok, admittedly Duchovny's was always sort of this way but he still have a vitality in his charm, now that he's an old man it doesn't carry as well).

The dude from community is really hamming up his performance.

Overall it was a little underwhelming. I knew something was gonna be off when they didn't even bother to reshoot anything for the title/credits sequence and just used the poorly pan and scanned version they use on the HD rerelease of the first 9 seasons. I mean, the gritty footage from the early nineties cut directly after modern 1080p television was really jarring and feels a tad tired.

I have hopes that at least this new conspiracy is fun to unravel and that maybe they shot episodes chronologically, so this was just Mulder and Scully's first stint back and things will pick up in quality after the first episode.

I have episode 2 DVR'd and will be watching it later tonight, see if my opinions change or not.

Episode two was pretty underwhelming but people who have watched the whole season already warned that it starts out slow the first couple episodes then really takes off after that.

New episode in 20 minutes.

I hear people keep missing the episodes because fox keeps playing them at inconsistent times.

does anyone still not record TV shows?

It's on every Monday at 8 though lol.

Sorry for not updating the topic lately. I'll do that later(if I remember). The last two episodes have been awful.

I quit after number 3.

The minor supporting actors in that episode outperformed the leads IMO.

Let me know how the rest goes.

Let me know how the rest goes.

Just watch it.

You act like you  have something to lose, it's on basic cable. You're paying nothing to watch it.

I thought it was going to be 6 episodes of them uncovering some kind of super conspiracy just like the X-files movie. It's more of like season 1 instead. Which is fine by me anyways.

Yeah it did seem like that in the first episode

I enjoyed the premise of episode 3, though I really don't quite like the way it was executed. It was stronger than the first two in terms of plot resolution, but the tone was so out there compared to this season so far.

Also, apparently Mulder's ringtone is canonically the x-files theme? I mean? Is that the conspiracy? That the 4th wall doesn't exist.

maybe The X Files is a show in the X Files universe
