So basically to total all this up together:
>Makes club as a joke
>People for some reason want to join your Satanic club?
>You then proceed to make this a legitimate club?
>(This is where I get confused) You then change the main goal of the club and make it about freedom-of-speech?
I'm so loving confused, and why would you make a Satan-related club and not expect a LITTLE backlash from your fellow students, considering how about 60 - 80% of Americans are Christians, or at-least have a faith which includes Satan/The Devil
We made it because we expected backlash. That's the whole point. The extreme conservative fundamentalism is almost suffocating--and it's surprisingly satisfying to just break free and yell the opposite of what they want you to. Many other students feel the same way, which is why we have a memberlist of 25. It started as a one-time thing, but once we saw the massive and unexpected backlash trying to smother our opinions, it made us feel as though this system HAD to be broken. As a small but determined minority agreed with us, we realized that forming this club might actually work, so we're gonna go for it.
It was always about freedom of speech, now more than ever.
edit: I'm attending Spartans for Christ tomorrow. Let's see how it goes!
