I gotta be honest, guys.  I am actually finding updating and constantly following this game to be a tremendous consumption of time and attention.  Frankly, I am seriously considering either dropping the project altogether or passing it off to anyone who I

Kyrev frowns at the imbalance of trade control and the continuing militarism of Milhamiah. They demand Milhamiah allow them to settle a trade port and checkpoint at the mouth of the river leading into the Great Lake, across from Milhamiah, to allow them security over their own trade.

To this end, military barges head west along with supply barges and colonists.

To keep up with the times, Kyrev colonizes west along its river, towards the lake.

Kyrev ~4.36mil
Military - 190,000

Ratio 1/23

Washk ~ 5mil
Military ~ 100k to 200k

Ratio 1/20 or 1/30

Vlast ~ 5.86mil
Military ~25k active

Ratio 1/200 to 1/250

220K is 4% of my entire population, btw max starting pop is 5 mill

4% is rounding down but also including my reserve, its actually like 4.4% or so, but active military is like 3.78%.

The Serisian Navy sends an inquiry to the Washkian navy to see if they want to perform joint naval exercises

Nami pushes itself out into the desert wilderness to the East a bit more. Its military grows. (+100 Infantry, +10 Ships)
Nami's Military
-Ground-
130 Infantry/Ground Troops
-Sea Troops-
13 Naval Ships

Izlandia sets up some settlements and flags on this land since apparently nobody wants it and we need a foothold on the mainland for trading purposes.

Nami also offers trade to its neighboring country, Vlast.

40 ships, aka the South Fleet make their way to Seris (thats 5 ships of the line and like 10 frigates and 6 heavy frigates and some brigs and schooners and merchantmen, a total of 32,000 men or so.

Caeser Agustius Argentius feels kinda bad about the land he stole from the natives so he decides to give them the same rights as a Asalienii and promises he won't mine on their burial sites.

4% is 1/25

I was cleared to have a starting pop above 5mil. It won't be growing until at least the next decade.

Vlast obliges to stay south of the river that it on Washk's border.

Nami also offers trade to its neighboring country, Vlast.
Tariffs are lowered but no other special actions are taken.

half would have been fine

Questions:
What do trade routes do in the context of this game?
Do I get a notice of what resources my island has or do I just make it up as I go? I'd like to know so I can decide which way my country can develop.
Well, since your island is so small, I can tell you that there's not much on that island.  It's a fertile land, though.  Probably would be good for olives and sheep/goat herding.

Trade routes are what they mean to you.  If you want a good that you don't have, someone else may have it.  Trading something for it may allow you to get it.

An expedition is dispatched to claim the lands around the river to the east of Adenbell.
The expedition makes it halfway up the river before running into some natives.  Some of the land is secured completely, however.

Also, I'd like to remind people:
  • Do not OOCly argue in the thread.  Take it to any external source.  Just don't litter the thread with an unpleasant argument.

The ONC I convenes.

Resolutions proposed by the host, Arcon, with intention to settle sea negotiations, are the following:
Quote
  • A common system of signing and flag-bearing be used at sea, river and lake travel be used to communicate.  It is to be communicated by a flag-wielder as well as by flags raised on the mast.
  • The flag wielder is to communicate messages using a variety of signals by adjusting colored flags.
  • The mast-raised flags indicate the ship's primary intention.  Instead of running up a white flag, which submits the vessel to search and seizure, two new flags are to be established:  One for trade negotiations, and one for negotiations in general.

Additionally, Arcon establishes trade statements for its own territory, offering any nations trade.
Quote
  • As long as no entity has ill will for Arcon, it's government, its citizens, et cetera, trade will be permitted at a general tariff rate of 6% for non-allies, and 3% for allies on all goods with exception to—
  • Wares such as gunpowder, shot, ammunition, armor, and guns of any kind are to be taxed at 10% for non-allies.
  • Slavery is banned in Arcon, and any ship bearing slaves to enter Arconian waters or to pass through its ports will be promptly turned away without question.

Also could you guys please stop with the expansions for a moment.  I'm having a really hard keeping up.

Also, I'd like to remind people:

As far as I was going, all of my stuff was IC. I'm pretty sure it was all IC on Warus end as well, till he left.

The Vlastcovite Delegate to the ONC proposes to amend the second proposition.

-The nature of flag communication must be a language all its own, mutually understandable between any two ships of differing language.

The delegate cites Vlast's complicated linguistic history.

I'd like to say that we do not like outsiders, but the people of the Nynien Empire are starving, I will take in 2,000 refugees as second-class citizens.

How is everyone going to handle the refugee crCIA?
