Collineville, feeling threatened by the quickly-advancing armies, even though they don't seem to mean any threat, sends word to Auregge. Martial law is declared in the lands bordering Arcon and Sonodine. Border security is raised, although refugees seem to be spilling in by the hundreds, sometimes thousands each day. The Arconian Southend Cavalry is drilled intensely with the other branches. The forces not training are sent to patrol the borderlands. A high-priority bill enters parliament to discuss a more efficient solution to the refugee crCIA.
Hearing and seeing that many world powers have become focussed on military prowess, and other reforms, Prince Önecht makes a decree, in it's conclusion, he states:
"My countrymen, we must strive to keep ourselves at the tables of the great powers. However,
we must be ever cautious and aware. Our pride which culminated a great nation is worth nothing if
it holds us back. Let us put this pride to good use and strive for the future."
Following the speech, news is released that parliament has passed a bill requiring that the military be brought up to modern standards. While the current state of the military is in review, ships depart for every corner of the region to inquire about the militaries of the area.
News is relayed to Izlandia, Anglond, Avalonia, Wienza, Sunyong, and Romek-Inen that while Arcon is growing our military, we have no intent of aggression.
News is heard down south about railroads. Delegations reach Seris, Fravath, and Kyrev, wishing to open up diplomatic and trade relations.
Irrigation projects continue.
The entourage is not roostery, and they are not insulted, but rather understanding. This is their house, of course! Anglond cartographers ask for maps of this nation. Further investigation is done - this nation is asked to do the same to us.
Anglond merchants arrive in plentiful number at Arconian ports, seeking coffee. They carry Anglish manufactured goods and tobacco.
The house, which calls themselves the Yaksut family, declines the offer to trade maps, seeing that they have just met the Anglish. They point out that they have noticed that military efforts were just expanded in Anglond, and that while they want to trust them, they don't know what that outpost means for the future of their diplomatic relationship. The head of the great house, however, says that in time, perhaps they will become friends.
The price in coffee has lowered, but the abundance has grown significantly.
Anglond begins to promote the coffee trade to more of its neighbors.
