Author Topic: LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer released  (Read 5029 times)

I hope it has a loving decent PC port for once.

I haven't really played any lego-story-parody game for a long time but since its only about one movie wouldnt that make the play time pretty low?

i wonder if it's gonna be like the exact same as the other tt lego games

I'm excited because I really enjoy the TT Lego games, and am a big fan.
At the same time, I am worried about it too.

It's got a release date of June 2016, which means that it's obviously out before the next Star Wars film.
From the information released so far, it is going to include a campaign relating to the story of Episode 7, as well as some story that takes place between Episode 6 and 7 (whether this is canon or not, I don't know).

That's fine, but as it stands, there's very little released material for them to go on. There's only the one film.
And while they can stretch that out decently (they showed this with Lego Hobbit and Lego Jurassic World, the latter of which really stretched out the stories), it still sounds like we're going to have less content than previous games. Lego Star Wars 1 gave us the first 3 films (plus a tidbit of Ep4), while Lego Star Wars: Original Trilogy gave us another full 3 films. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga obviously gave us 6 films total.

Now I am happy to say right now that I do not believe they will release large Add-Ons for the game, with campaign packs for Episode 8, or Rogue One.
They didn't do this with Lego Hobbit and The Battle of the Five Armies, even though they suggested they would.

Lego Star Wars happens to be one of Lego's most popular sets, if not the most popular.
And there's more than enough demand for Lego Star Wars games, hence Lego Star Wars III, which squeezed material out of the Clone Wars TV series.

What this means is that when Episode 8 comes out, there will be a demand for a Lego Star Wars game again.
Same when the Yoda movie, or Episode 9, or the Han Solo movie comes out.
Now, unless they wait for several films to come out before making another Lego game, we may just see several Lego Star Wars games being released over the next few years each with awkwardly little content.

Lego Marvel Avengers just released, and that's pressing more content from the Avengers movies, plus the Captain America and Iron Man films.
It's more of what we have seen before. Yet it's selling for £60.

I don't want to see a Lego Star Wars game being sold every year, or even every other year, at a high price, for little content from the silver-screen.

Basically, Lego TT has a kind of shoddy tendency to jump the gun when it comes to sequels to their popular games.
We had Lego Indiana Jones 2 after the 4th film released, and it included the 4th film, but most of its content was a redesign of the previous games 3 films.
We had Lego The Hobbit, which followed just after their successful and fun Lego Lord of the Rings, but it had 2/3rds the content of any other Lego game, as it was announced and released prior to the 3rd Hobbit film, and they never delivered the last part.
Now we have another sequel to Lego Star Wars, but they're releasing it after only the 1st new film has released, despite their being 5 more films on the way.

im mad because in the trailer kylo ren has a custom molded lightsaber hint but in the sets he has a pathetic regular hilt with a lightsaber blade shaped like a cross

WE NEED MORE HILT MOLDS

i bet theres a bonus level where you have to smash everything as kylo

i wonder if it's gonna be like the exact same as the other tt lego games
Of course it will, it's a Lego game based on a movie, it will obviously be the same like all the hundreds of others they've made, same stuff.

wait theres 5 more movies coming out? i thought this was just a trilogy

main trilogy + side stories

There are the 3 movies in the trilogy, Episode 7, 8 and 9.
And then there are some spin-offs. Estimated to be about 3.

Squad One, a spy film about the Rebel spies who stole the Death Star plans releases this December.
Then there's supposefuly a film about a young Han Solo, and possibly one about either Yoda or Boba Fett.

I haven't been this interested in a video game in years

hopefully (the same as the other star wars ones anyway, I haven't played any others in a while but I wasn't really into the harry potter or indiana jones ones)

They have voice acting now!
And the animation/textures look better too.
They've definitely polished their games up over the years.

Only thing I am not looking forward to at all, is the Jedi Force puzzles, where you have to move some red/green/yellow/blue bricks to recreate a pattern, and the physics act all funky and awkward.
They have these in any game that has telekinesis, so Star Wars, Harry Potter, Hobbit, Marvel Superheroes, etc...
They're so annoying.

Won't deny, I didn't miss them while playing Lego Jurassic World.

Trailer is probably filled with the only good jokes they have. Knowing TT the rest of the cutscenes will be filled with cringe
