Idk about you but the lego star wars games were pretty stuffty in hindsight.

Totally right. I remember having fond memories as a kid of the original two and being so hyped for Complete Saga, but playing it now, it's absolutely painful. The newer ones have the benefit of refinement and polish, but they still have a lot of problems (for example, LotR is fairly buggy, and Marvel Super Heroes made me physically ill which I've never been when playing video games).

That said, co-op improves any game since you're focusing on having fun together rather than the game itself. It actually works well, so long as you really are cooperating and not fighting over which character you have to play as.

A lot of nintendo games in general are great, and if she doesn't like playing games or just wants to hang with you, have her play with you in super Mario galaxy.

If you have a PS3/4, LBP2/3 is pretty good

I was thinking about getting LBP3. Knack looked like it would have been decent, however player 2 is much under powered compared to player one.

The only difference between each player is who gets to choose which level is played and who is in control of the screen. If player 1 runs ahead and player 2 is slow, player 2 will die.

Probably my only complaint with the lbp series but it makes sense. Whats the point of a co-op game if everyone is separated.

My girlfriend and I both have PS4's but we could also play low-requirement PC games.

We play Minecraft and Castle Crasher's together. Any other good co-op/2-player video games for couples?

Not sure if this is a good game for non-Resident Evil fans, but RE: Revelations 2 has two player co-OP where one player is more active and has the biggest arsenal of shotguns and snipers rifles and such and the other player acts as support, like looking through walls to spot enemies, distracting them, thowing grenades, or lock picking. It works pretty well if you want to play co-OP with someone but they're not too good at the shoot bangs.

Also don't expect anything to make sense. Even if you have played the previous games the story is straight B-movie schlock.
