how the hell am i going to keep my stuff organized
a ton of the stuff that I've liked only exists on soundcloud

gs allows you to digitally upload, download, or listen to audio tracks on the internet. Wow, that's so different from grooveshark. How could i ever compare the two...

Grooveshark:

Listen to any song online for free. Stream free internet radio stations. Search for free mp3's to stream.

Which is exactly what Spotify is (with a difference of ads and subscriptions). Soundcloud is for individual artists or hobbyists or random people to upload any kind of sound byte/song/mental procrastination to their website. They have a relatively strict copyright system in place, so you could not find any music by major artists unless its published by their label/the artist themself. Grooveshark also seems to have a ridiculously shady past and seems to be dying pretty hard. Hell it looks like they shut down for a time being before having been "anonymously" rebooted. Spotify, on the other hand, pays a disgustingly low margin to artists/labels to allow them to stream their music to people. You CANNOT upload your own music to Spotify without going through approval processes. They get their money from subscriptions and advertisement.

To be fair, I was easily able to become a verified artist on Grooveshark and upload music just like I now do on SoundCloud.

i'm going to take a guess it's either using last.fm data, or old Grooveshark data. a lot of my older tracks which i prefer to laugh at now are up on mine, and the info on mine is just ripped straight from last.fm.
