I think that the deteriorating state of infrastructure in the United States is going to be a disaster sooner rather than later if something is not done about the transportation budget.

i'm less concerned about roads than i am about the power grid, and not because of its power sources

there's also this to consider. fusion will be a minor energy production revolution in its own right once it gets practical
I'd say it'll be a hell of a lot more than minor. Initial construction costs will be high, but fusion reactors AFAIK cannot destroy the environment around them, and they have the potential to generate even more energy than nuclear reactors in a smaller footprint, and without any waste as all it does is generate helium. (Which in of itself could be a valuable resource as helium is becoming more and more scarce)

We already have functioning fusion reactors as well; there's just a lot of work to make them practical for energy-generation.

Someone explain to me what a fusion reactor is and how it's different from nuclear. Do they even exist or is this just all theory?

Fusion reactors generate electricity by fusing atoms, and conventional reactors use the heat of radioactive decay to heat a fluid.
Fusion reactors have been constructed in the past, but as of yet none have been build that can generate more electricity than is required to run the reactor (electromagnets, plasma heating, monitoring equipment, etc). Additionally, fusion reactors cannot meltdown; they require heated plasma which cools down to a harmless gas when there is a failure.

In response to the poll question, there's no longer such a thing as a humanitarian war, so no.

I think it was just a typo but i think it's important anyways, they fuse what is essentially hydrogen atoms together to form helium atoms.

sure hope some competent decisions are made by the US.

as in like back the forget off, we really don't need to go to war with China.

maybe in four years

sure hope some competent decisions are made by the US.

as in like back the forget off, we really don't need to go to war with China.

Just wait it out, sooner or later their bubble of an economy is going to crash

China has actually supported action against the nuclear program. I read somewhere they are putting the troops there to deal with a possible refugee crCIA, assuming that they just talked with the US about North Korea.

I actually would have to give credit to The Hamburglar if he finally took out Korean Butters.

Thanks, Obummer
