I know this is offtopic but I'm seeing more political variety threads than ever before (mostly by official news peddler Lord Tony). Is there a point where we should consider requesting a Politics board? Personally I think that'd be pretty cool.

It's really not viable to have all politics stuff in a single thread. It would need to be completely neutral, not have leading titles/polls, etc...
And even then, a lot of events really do deserve their own topic so more people can see it, whereas with everything in a single thread events just get buried and largely ignored half the time.

Which is why it's own board would be better imo. I happen to agree with the idea.

Off-Topic used to be a nice haven of ordinary teenage stuffposting. However, the inflow of new users stopped and all the veterans got old, so the only thing we really give a stuff about now is politics.

The board is pretty much the same - it's just the people on these forums are much older than they were a couple years ago (on average).

Pretty much this. The average users got older, many left, and few joined. It's the natural order of things.
