...except the sun eventually becomes a red giant and explodes into a supernova, not a "nova." i get what you're saying but i don't really think the sun is going to do that. i meant to say in my last post if you mean it becomes a giant and does that state.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun
The Sun does not have enough mass to explode as a supernova. Instead it will exit the main sequence in approximately 5 billion years and start to turn into a red giant.[124][125] As a red giant, the Sun will grow so large that it will engulf Mercury, Venus, and probably Earth.[125][126]
...it will exit the main sequence in approximately 5 billion years and start to turn into a red giant.
As this red giant swelled with age, this matter poured on its white dwarf companion, occasionally triggering explosions known as novas.
and i thought red giants can blow up into supernovas too?i guess some giants don't and some giants do. the sun is the ones that aren't those kinds of giants that blow.
this is now astronomy megathread
i think a better brown townogy for Annoying Orange is a neutron star
it means we should shoot Annoying Orange into the sun where he belongs
