should probably give exceptional citizens the status of "peacekeepers" and give them the authority to act as judge jury and executioner at any given moment.

personally i think that cops are in general trustworthy and law-abiding, but its easy to get angry at the 1% of police who are a threat to themselves and others but manage to get off with a paid vacation

oH BoY, Oh bOY! It's finally happened.
I've been hit with the "you're a fascist" line!

Advocating for mob rule to Annoying Orange trained law enforcement simply because you want to see the violent deaths of vandals is about as fascist as it gets.

Alright so listen, it's not totalitarian because it's not enforcing a law that's unfair, it's quite fair to not go around destroying public or private property for any reason, if you want it down start a petition, idk do the american thing have a vote, I can't argue against a statue being taken down via vote, but if your going around pulling stuff down illegally, get forgeted.

I'm not arguing in favor of being able to destroy statues willy-nilly, I've already made it quite clear many, many times before that I think the destruction and vandalization of public property is wrong. My point is that vigilantism and mob rule is never something law enforcement should promote and this advocacy disproportionate retribution for minor crimes further shows how absolutely skewed your and other people's priorities are here.

It is in no way reasonable to kill people for destroying public property. Your only argument towards why it's suddenly okay is because you feel it would scare citizens straight. You may not think this is a totalitarian train of thought but I don't trust your judgement.

This is in no way a good idea at all whatsoever. If citizens want to keep the peace, they can join the police academy and do it right. Giving citizens the rights to shoot and kill people to uphold the glorious law is pretty much how a fascist regime gets it's traction.

There needs to be a way to find police like that more accountable
There's no excuse for police officers that exhibit behavior unbecoming of a public servant to continue serving on the force at any capacity. Makes no loving sense

As fun as it'd be it's not something we could reasonable enforce.

Jesus christ.

well if there's one thing police teach us its that giving the average, flawed human legal exemption for murdering people who clearly aren't a threat is objectively wrong

regarding this whole statue thing, why don't you like, loving arrest the vandals rather then either permanently ruin their life or kill them and ruin their friends and family's lives

I live for terrible ideas that would put me in an unwarranted position of power over others lives.

Jesus christ.

Bang bang

Consider it the late stages of a community clean up program

how about we just kill everyone

Good to know these aren't legitimate political views but immature power fantasies perpetuated by egocentric manchildren.

Literally the feels-before-reals brand of powerwanking that you usually see from the tumblresque "I stood up for social rights and everyone clapped and gave me $100" stuff

Then who's gonna be there to kill the guys who kill the statues

Now you're just being a baby

statues don't have sentience. if they get destroyed you can build a new one with the perpetrator's money.

human lives can't be rebuilt you forget. once you shoot someone they will never be able to speak to their loved ones again, their parents will never talk to them again, their friends will never get to make jokes or hang out with them again

if you honestly think that killing someone is just as bad as breaking a non-feeling hunk of copper, you're a psychopath
