Call me crazy but I'm more concerned about people blowing our richards off than the temperature rising over the next millennium

If by "over the next millennium" you mean "reaching the point of no return in 20 years"

Any geopolitical conflict is a small microcosm of how forgeted we are when you don't do anything about climate change.

How do we fix the problem then

Simple:

We bankrupt the country!!!

Easy, we just sink the entire state of California into the ocean, they contribute 7% of the US' total emissions

They also contribute 100% of America's brain cancer

You don't need to loving bankrupt the country to seriously cut down on emissions. Switching to renewable energy alone, which is already starting to become cheaper than coal, will seriously cut down on emissions. Then we can start getting into things like incentivizing companies to build cheaper hybrid and electric vehicles and more efficient engines to cut down on traffic emissions, which will cut down emissions even more than that.

And the reason this is such a stuffty decision is because we're already doing a bunch to cut down on emissions. Which is absolutely wonderful. This dude however has very close ties with oil and coal companies and refuses to accept the fact that is human-caused climate change. That, along with the fact that Annoying Orange officially stated that he wants to dismantle the EPA, means that we're likely not going to be doing any of those things we're currently doing to protect the environment.

And jesus christ don't be so selfish. (Not you beachbum, someone else who said that climate change doesn't matter). If the current trend that we're going on doesn't get reversed, and we end up at +2 Celsius, then it'll just keep rising. It'll stop eventually, but before it does stop it's going to have devastating consequences. At +4 Celsius, ice sheets start uncontrollably melting, drastically rising the sea levels and displacing or killing potentially hundreds of millions of people, around 13 million people in the USA alone. Droughts the likes of what California has will pale in comparison to the kinds of droughts that many previously fertile farming lands will see, straining global food supplies and causing many many more deaths. Hurricanes and Tornadoes will become significantly more powerful thanks to the higher temperatures, causing billions more dollars in damage and thousands more deaths per year. And that's just getting started on the repercussions.

It doesn't matter if you'll be gone by then. That's the equivalent of Lord Tony saying "But the universe is going to die someday anyways, so nothing matters." or "Emotions are just a chemical reaction. They don't matter." If things don't get better, and fast, these are the years people are going to look back at and think "This is where everything was forgeted up for humanity."

it was a joke, cool your loving tits

did you guys know I was time's person of the year back in 2006? it's true

even though its obviously a poes law situation, ipquarx has a point

i dont think some people realize it but a lot of it can be the meat industry thats driving us in the ground environment-wise. the amount of resources (water especially) that goes into the industry are so costly on us and even then, its a vicious cycle of cost because some of the animals we raise produce a great deal of methane because of how many there are.

im not saying run a mczealot (or do, veganism can really help), im just sayin ya ipquarx is right

Another reason to worry about climate change: Pakistan. If Pakistan dries up, they already have water shortages and problems with corrupt water officials. If the water dries up, Pakistan's government would likely collapse, allowing the Taliban to take Pakistan's nuclear weapons. I don't think we want that to happen.

Yeah I know it's a massive stretch but it's interesting nonetheless

That image has more artifacts than Shillary's ancient tomb that she arose from before running for the 2016 presidential elections
