Sucking richard =/= basic logic
CIA kills anyone who doesnt join their specific radical part of islam.
Nukes kill literally everything, and are very bad, and yes, syria would be struck too.

What good does it do to go into syria to remove a dictator to "save the children" if
A. CIA comes and takes over the minute we leave to kill anyone who they dont recruit.
B. Russia launches a nuclear strike and kills everyone. (Including the oh so important CHILDREN.)

FFS.
Do you not see how we're pulling a knee jerk reaction and not fully thinking this through?

This is going to be like how we handled Sudam, yes we removed a dictator, but what good did it do?

This isnt as easy as "rush in and kick ass".
Even removing bad people from power can make worse situations

There are more options than just Back Out or WW3. The entire world has a huge diplomatic entity whose whole goal is to solve global conflicts without letting them continue and at the same time without starting a war.

Master Matthew, your logic is somewhat correct but 1) CIA isn't doesn't have as alarming a presence in Syria as you think. 2) Nuclear war is the worst case scenario, so no country would ever pursue it. Unless the US threatened to use nuclear weapons, there's no chance of any nuclear war being engaged in.

This isnt as easy as "rush in and kick ass".
You're right. "rush in and kick ass" is the worst possible decision in the entire pedigree of peacetime tactics. However, the best possible decision is end Assad's regime without using violence, a perfectly possible solution if diplomacy was on the mind of our country and the rest of the world. And before you say 'pfft that wont happen' that's literally how Iran's former Shah and almost every single Middle East country's dictator was ousted, with the exception of Saddam.

You make it sound like you're an expert wartime tactician or something but in reality you're thinking so one dimensionally that it hurts to read your posts. Leave the diplomacy to the UN and various US ambassadors

You could replace everything Master Matthew is saying with "I don't know how foreign policies work" and it would still make sense

You could replace everything IkeTheGeneric is saying with "I'm a condescending richard" and i would still think tony posted it.

Historically, that hasn't worked, unfortunately. Of all the countries that had uprisings in the Arab Spring, only one, Tunisia, succeeded in installing a democratic government.

"...the dictator is merely the tip of the whole festering boil of social pus from which dictators emerge; shoot one, and there'll be another one along in a minute. Shoot him too? Why not shoot everyone and invade Poland?" -Terry Pratchett

"no u"

You could replace everything IkeTheGeneric is saying with "I'm a condescending richard" and i would still think tony posted it.

You could have simply said "Overthrowing Assad without a solid contingency plan could lead to a disastrous power vacuum." and dropped all the pretentious bullstuff, leading to me saying what I said. You really don't understand foreign policy.

I liked Japan more when they were an empire.

I liked Japan more when they were an empire.

You mean when they were better at killing themselves and hating white people? No thank you.
