Didn't know that the french elections meant this much to you. You know, it's good to be involved in the world politics. Gives you an earthly sense of perspective. Some people on reddit were drawing parallels between the 2016 North American elections, and the 2017 French elections. Just goes to show you that despite how different we are, at the end of the day, we're all stuck on this same god forsaken rock. God bless.

La Pen did twice as well as her father but still only got half the votes that her rival did.

If it's any solace, nobody expected her to do as well as she did. As I said earlier, the Nationalist party is quite the divisive choice and if they're worth their salt, this cycle was more of a learning experience on how important it is to appeal to a broader demographic early on, and get your name out there.

Maybe next cycle we may even see a Marine Le Pen victory. We know not of what time holds in store for us. Only choice is to look forward, gleaning hope from the cold unknown.
