Why aren't people talking about Jeff Sessions' Civil Asset Forfeiture? I agree with why he's doing it but I'm concerned w/ the precedent he's setting, plus the fact that the way civil asset forfeiture works is currently bullstuff.

look into the high penalties on possession crack cocaine (popular among poor black communities) vs the penalties for trafficking of powder cocaine. (popular with middle and upper class white people)

Persons convicted in federal court of possession of 5 grams of crack cocaine received a minimum mandatory sentence of 5 years in federal prison. On the other hand, possession of 500 grams of powder cocaine carries the same sentence.

that's a 100:1 ratio starting in the 80s. Today it is an 18:1 ratio.
