gangster culture is big, and there are few good role models. this means children aren't told how to act like respectable human beings

i think pretty much all of these naturally fall out of not having a father, especially for men

hey wait a minute are you telling me it's economics and not racism????????

It can be both you know

It can be both you know

im curious as to your reasoning for how in 2017 racism makes black people as a whole disadvantaged

That may be so but after a while if black people don't pull themselves up out of poverty it's kind of their problem. There's no never-ending well of racism keeping black communities down, lol.
So what do you call the War on Drugs that specifically targets poor blacks, even though whites do more drugs?

Per capita or in total?

Per capita or in total?
Per capita, by far. The only exception is crack cocaine, which receives disproportionately severe sentencing for possession (30x less required for same sentence versus ordinary cocaine, despite the fact cocaine is a purified precursor to crack)

There are a ton of studies out there describing the effects of racial profiling (this one for example), but I'd also like to refer to this recent story about Baltimore police planting drugs in what was most likely a majority-minority neighborhood.

If you think the sole purpose of the War on Drugs was to slap black people around then idk what to tell you

I mean, I can't tell you what goes on in the minds of congressmen. I'm not psychic. But the laws are harsher on black drugs and enforced more in black communities. Whether that was the intent or not, it's the end result. People with felony drug convictions generally don't find employment after release, so they go into stuff like violent crime. It's all connected.

maybe we should police those areas more
not many police would be willing to risk their lives patrolling around people who would be more likely to kill them

justice is great and all except for the poor dude who has to risk their life bringing in the perps

so we shouldn't actually try to do anything at all then?

Russians hacked the war on drugs

i mean if crimes are being detected and committed and they have probable cause for the stops then there's nothing wrong or illegal about that. the only thing you can really try to complain about is a lack of enforcement for whites/asians/whatever

i'd say it's more so about the history of racism rather than modern-day racism that put us where we are today. not that racism doesn't still affect people's lives

surely you realize you're describing the exact same problem as racial profiling but just with the words switched around a bit
