this is in the top graph on the wikipedia article i linked. i'm aware. either way, i don't see how one can make an argument that broken black families are fallout from discrimination when their illegitimacy rates followed the same trend as the rest of the country (albeit a much steeper one) even in a period of wide-reaching anti-discrimination legislation taking effect

how is single parenthood not a keystone issue here? children in single parent households have much poorer economic and educational outlooks in life than children in two-parent households, and an extremely disproportionate number of these children are black and hispanic

but how can you argue that the black family falling apart is the cause for their stuffty situation when the rest of the country followed the same trend

because as i said the single parent children rate for whites is close to one third that of blacks and it did not increase remotely near as steeply as it did for blacks

Because blacks are not just magically more likely to have broken households. There are issues below this, which is why the rest of the country doesn't have the same sorts of issues, regardless of the fact that unwed pregnancies are high everywhere.
