every successful person will have a history working "those jobs"
that's because working those jobs is supposed to give you cred to work higher-paying, higher-skill jobs later on
around half of the people working minimum wage jobs are over 25 (BLS, see table 1), how would you explain this? the most likely explanation i can think of is that they simply cannot/don't have the opportunity to work anything else, but regardless, the fact that so many people outside the alleged target demographic group are working these jobs to sustain themselves is a problem, because it's provably true that you cannot comfortably sustain yourself working minimum wage, or at the very least, doing so relies on highly circumstantial conveniences

A lot of minimum wage jobs are supposed to be for floating teenagers through high school and college. Problem is a lot of these people get pidgeonholed into these jobs and can't go back to school to get a higher paying job. I think if we focused more on education and lowering the cost of living it would be avoidable. As it stands young people are getting choked out of jobs by people that should be in the higher paying jobs I'm referring to. That's my understanding of it, at least. I know raising minimum wage is not a good idea, because companies will just 1. lay people off 2. raise prices or 3. do both. Many major population centers don't offer much in terms of affordable housing, and minimum wage jobs are going to be phased out eventually in favor of automation. I can't offer any real solutions, just my brown townysis of what's happening when it comes to minimum wage jobs atm.

They also happen to have rich parents who pay to put them in private schools populated by rich children, so they have personal connections to other rich people. Their wealth also happens to get them into prestigious universities, where they make even more profitable connections. Even without factoring in inheritance, you can draw your own conclusions.

there are millions of people from poor families that have gone to prestigious universities on scholarships and grants
it's not about how much money you have, it's about how much you commit to rising higher on the social ladder, which is the essence of capitalism

"The Pursuit of Happyness" is a true story you know

Do you honestly think minimum wage jobs help you get any kind of job beyond managing other minimum wage workers? Even then, management positions don't make you qualified for anything besides other low-paying management positions. How long have you even been in the job market?

minimum wage jobs -> managing other minimum wage workers -> other leadership positions later on
like I said, working minimum wage jobs is supposed to give you skills, not money

personally I feel like there should be a government program that gives poor families money to spend on gasoline. gas can be pretty expensive, and you can lose an already low-paying job if you aren't able to drive there.

Take a bus like everyone else

I'm against expanding welfare but it should ideally cover housing (partially) food (partially) and gas
it should also be only available to people who are working

Take a bus like everyone else
if you live in a poor and somewhat rural area, there might not be any bus, and it's too far to walk.

Right, so you recognize one of the many destructive flaws of capitalism, and recognize that there is no reasonable reform under capitalism, and yet you still defend it? Do you not feel a sense of urgency in solving this issue because you aren't affected by it?

Why stop at gas? Why not equip citizens with all of the tools necessary to contibute to society?

Do you actually have any idea why you oppose leftism besides the fact that everyone has taught you that it will lead to starvation somehow? Revolution becomes more and more inevitable the longer people are funneled into the poverty cycle.

Have you ever taken an economics class?
Everything comes in waves, including the economy.
When it comes up again it will eventually come back down and vice versa.

Also communism's wave form pattern always seems to fly up to the top immediately and then just as quickly collapse.

Revolution becomes more and more inevitable the longer people are funneled into the poverty cycle.

It's almost as if the left is purposefully keeping people in poverty and feeding them revolutionary ideology to keep their voter base as large as possible. You might even assume that they're trying to force the "revolution" to occur so they can assume total and complete power.
