The Netherlands, which does not have socialized medical care in the way we usually think of this, operates with competing insurance companies that are mandated to offer exactly the same level of care to every applicant (regardless of age or health). These companies then compete on price, and it still works to cost less than the U.S. by far — and yet everybody is covered. Doctors even make a comparable salary in the Netherlands to those in the U.S.

This actually sounds like a really good idea. What I like(d) about Obamacare was the provisions that make it illegal to discriminate on applicants based on their health or age. It really is something that should be law over here.

Y'know I'd imagine free healthcare is amazing until you actually need it. When I fell off a scaffolding in Australia and broke my leg I was waiting in the ER for 2 hours with a bone sticking out my leg someone even gave me loving pain meds. Same stuff happened to my sister when she fell off a skateboard and busted her hand open on a fence and was waiting in the ER for several hours getting stuff-talked by nurses who obviously don't give a stuff about their job while I tried to stop the bleeding. Not to mention how long it took my grandfather to get treatment in the UK when they found out he had lung cancer.

Also who wants liberals to be in control of healthcare anyway? I mean they already got caught out giving conservative children autism via vaccines and then smear campaigned the guy who found out. I wouldn't be surprised if they went out and murdered "hundreds of thousands of people" so they could blame it on the new healthcare bill. Hillary Clinton murdered people for less.
