Most rich people don't put in a fraction of the work that a working-class day laborer would to attain their wealth. Most likely, they were either born and raised into it (hey, Annoying Orange) or got rich from ill-gotten gains

"yeah well they didn't earn it the right way so we can take it"

ok

who knew that providing for your kids was evil

"yeah well they didn't earn it the right way so we can take it"

ok

They need to earn it the right way - by going through years of generational poverty like the rest of us!! How dare their ancestors save money

I want you to tell me what the heck your problem is. I'm not trolling or baiting, and I don't insult or belittle you like folk such as leisuresuit do, so I don't know where this personal scorn comes from. There's no place for it. It's completely unnecessary.

You're at odds with everyone here, so I wanna know why you're here in the first place. What are you doing?

you guys feel the need to move the goal posts, lmfao, I was talking about tax rates, so where that fits in to whatever you want to think I was talking about is beyond me
If someone who sat on their ass all day high on illicit drugs and playing video games on their parents' money said that Communism is great, their view is logical from their point of view since they are given all they have in life, not obtain it for themselves. If someone who is self-dependent and pays their own taxes says capitalism is great, their view also is logical from their point of view since they have sought to obtain their own wealth and attain their own successes rather than have it given to them.

Everyone here was right to call you out in the spotlight. If one says questionable things in the eyes of many, the automatic thing people do is question that person's character and background to see whether their words are backed by a reasonable and complimentary background versus a contradictory one, which would mean that it would be easy to conclude that said person is incorrect or even unintelligent.

You're losing me here

Actually let me clarify, you're making sense but I don't understand the first paragraph and how it pertains to me considering I wasn't shilling for communism

i don't think making blanket statements about how rich people don't deserve their money is the best way to justify a progressive income tax. i prefer arguments like how they help stabilize the economy (pg 3). or maybe how flat taxes are actually effectively regressive, because one's marginal propensity to consume is always less than 1 (unless you aren't making enough money and have to spend above your means); when you earn a lot of money, you're spending a much smaller percentage of that money than someone making a very small amount of money, therefore, lower income brackets are significantly more emburdened by a flat tax rate than higher brackets because they have less income to spare

just a couple i've heard that i like better, there are probably others too

To sum up, I was essentially saying that "moving the goalposts" is a concept that didn't really apply here and I was disagreeing with your misuse of it.

I don't understand the first paragraph and how it pertains to me considering I wasn't shilling for communism
10/10 comprehension, good job!
