what r the best mmos
there is no answer. they're all stuff.
some helpful reviews, ala myself.
Guild Wars 2 - Amazing world. Dungeon-crawling is 5 players and it's basically "go speedrun times or you're kicked out of the group". no way to make money without sinking a ton of hours, as dungeons don't even net you 1 gold nowadays. All the weapons are bland and they seem so weak. Graphics are cool, but everything sorta just, phases into each other. Weapons don't bang or make clashing sounds, it's all just numbers and garbage. No dedicated healing class, but somewhat negated by every class having a healing ability. Too bad they all suck, though. Even with end game gear i was being repeatedly killed even though I was a tanky class. Roving around the countryside is good for the first 10 hours but then you've explored enough and you just start the endless grind of roving around with huge groups to kill world bosses. never got into pvp as it was more fun to explore the world.
Elder Scrolls Online - Super loving boring. Even if you do all the crafting writs, you're not doing anything for the first 20~ levels. it's just grinding and grinding. Eventually, the hundreds of towns plagued with bandits that you have to spend 10-20 minutes on doing a "quest" gets extremely repetitive. Quests are boring as dirt and it's an MMO before it's an elder scrolls game. never got into pvp as it was heavily meta-based and i didn't want to study up.
TERA - beautiful graphics. of course, the GUI is terrible, quests are garbage, there are BAMs (Big Ass Monsters) in the game though, so it gives you a nice challenge when you walk into a cave full of huge stuff trying to destroy you. Rewards a lot of patience, although if you go DPS you're still just going to be spamming buttons, while the mage class can't handle itself in PvE, much less against some of the tougher BAMs that you will have to grind at to level up and earn rewards. A suspicious amount of people I suspect are bots. Oh, also, those loving Pegasi, used to get around since there isnt a main way of teleportating around, you have to sit through a 1 minute cutscene where a pegasus flies you gracefully up and then you SAO-style link start into another part of the world. Cool the first 2 times, not cool the rest.
WildStar - I barely made it to the first planet. Typical MMO garbage. It sucks.
Vindictus - Cool intro scene, everything else isn't. Fighting is better than most though. Stopped playing after my friend was 10 levels above me and there was no way to catch up.
Runescape - buying gf 5k. If you don't have a million dollars or a million days, might as well not play. While max skills used to be rarity, the prevalence of bots or losers with too much time on their hands makes multiple max skills commonplace. Recently released a new skill to keep people paying. It went okay. Didn't they add higher skill caps? 120 or something compared to 99.
Wizards101 - by far the best MMO I have ever played. The entailing story and gameplay mechanics absolutely delight my very soul. Picking from different schools of magic, you can safely explore the world and make lots of friends in a kid-friendly way on this game. While there are some paywalls, playing free is still enjoyable due to the range of activities your character can do in the game. Truly a good one.
