what?
do you mean this thing?

yes but windows 7 not that it matters

more options > browse to(i think that's what it's called? or something. maybe 'select a program' or some bs) > find your 7zip install > 7zFM.exe
yes that's what I'm doing but every time I click on it it doesn't show up

edit: I guess it still somehow saved the old 7zip so I just renamed it.

 it works

If you actually buy WinRAR, I definitely think it's marginally superior to 7zip in usability. The only thing I feel 7zip has over it is that the 7zip format is non-proprietary and offers a similar compression ratio.

winRAR
I mean, it technically free since it doesnt restrict you from its "premium" uses besides giving a popup everybody ignores
In all honestly I would buy it if it was 10 bucks

WinRAR thinks it's paid software when it wasn't a few years ago

And it doesn't automatically unzip files to a new folder in your documents like the built in one does.

ADD RAR SUPPORT TO WINDOWS EXPLORER

that's not very legal
how is doing something the program allows you to do out of the box illegal

Because of the license for the trial software, continuing to use it after it has expired it theoretically a civil offense. However, that only means that you get in trouble if RarLabs decides to sue you; which I am pretty sure never happens because if they actually cared about individuals using it like that they would just make the software lock up after it expires. Most likely they only sue companies that try to use it without paying for it.

i used to use winrar but people have told me that 7zip is better so I just started using that. They seem to be the same tbh, they both do their job fine.
