Because that's the rank they were at previous to rank shifts? I mean I was a fresh MG1 right before the shift and I went down to SE, and am currently at GN1.

The shift is still relatively new. Everyone who has played before then is familiar with the level of skills associated with them. It's been the same since competitive came out. So of course people will ask. If they want a feel for maybe how skilled the player is, they'll ask. Especially because the stigma of "silvers suck" still and will always exist. People don't want to feel like they're associated with that.

i dont care if people ask. im saying when people say "like.. I used to be DMG before the deranking" but like that part doesn't even matter just tell us what rank you are now.

I'm really unsure if I've gotten better at the game since the derank update or what, but on my main account I was MG1 prior to the update (I don't play much on it any more tho), and on my second account (which I don't play anywhere near as seriously) I'm currently Gold Nova Master which is just one rank away from MG1.

I would however say that the average skill of a gold nova master player that I've came across seems to be a lot better than what it was prior to the update. They all tend to have mics, know callouts, and generally seem to know what they're doing.

The shift was 3 months ago, people need to get over the fact the little icon beside their name changed and stop being crybabies
