There is going to be no big giveaway this year guys, I forgeted it up big time. I was stupid enough to fall for a scam. The asshat who scammed me was this forget:
https://steamcommunity.com/id/3287d72f782f7f87dhLet me explain what happened and how I fell for it. He had added me after playing a casual match (I don’t play comp anymore) and he had been on my friends list for about a week. Eventually, he messaged saying he needed help on a site (I’m not going to post the link because I’m pretty sure it’s a phishing site). I believed him because for one, his steamrep was clear, his English was perfect, and the website didn’t have any reports and looked legit (so I thought). I signed into the site and he said he wanted my help with a new messaging system he was going to implement on the site, he basically wasted my time for about 10 minutes because no messages ever came through. He then said he was going to pay me for my time. He told me go to go a site called csgobounty and he said he talked to an admin who was going to triple my amount. He insisted I add my knife and this is where I should’ve stopped but my dumb self decided to continue. I was cautious at first, only depositing a 1.00 skin and I remember it going through and I got my balance along with some extra so I thought it was legit. So I decide to deposit my knife and awp skin (both worth about 150.00). I got my credits and somehow the little stuff managed to tip all of it to himself and stole everything from my account on the site. His last words to me were (mine now forgeter) and that was the last time I talked to him. To make things even worse, I went to go play CSGO shortly after because it gave me the option to join him in game, and it gave me this message that said “it appears you are currently playing CSGO on another computer, click ‘x’ to continue this session and exit the other”, and my friends list was flashing offline online over and over again. I immediately went to change my password as I just realized what happened and contacted support. Sadly, steam support doesn’t give a forget.
I managed to contact support for csgobounty (they seem to be a legit gambling site as sparklez and some other big YouTubers have done videos about them) and they said that the only way that someone could tip credits to someone else is if they got into your account with your username and password and tipped it to themselves. I am currently trying to see if I could get my knife and awp back from the site as the little forgeter said he took my credits and used to bet and my knife and awp are still on the inventory site. If I don’t get them back, there won’t be a giveaway this year.
Moral of the story: don’t trust anyone.
