I was unaware of that... Does this streaming service cost extra? If so forget that lol
It does use some sort of token-based currency to get you to play, which presumably you can run out of. But I don't know how you get more though, as I've lost interest in even playing. That's because when you first start you get put through a slow handholding section that overall (across Live and TV) takes like half an hour, and forces you to play through a small set list of stuffty songs and constantly pauses to let some smug stuffhead explain how every little thing works.
I have to agree with everything you pointed out, Freek. The gimmick of having a 'live' audience in the background is nauseating and distracting.
Old GH's animated characters and bands, locations and audience were much better. There were fewer special effects (like the phasing between good/bad audience reaction), and as a player it was easier to ignore. You also got more out of it, since it gave you something to work towards (new items for your rockstar), as well as giving you cameos of famous musicians.
Now you just get to see a GoPro whirled about and can look at a bunch of actors pretending to enjoy or hate your band (although I do find it funny when you're doing poorly and the camera looks at your bandmates staring at you in disgust, as I've you've stuff yourself midsong and kicked it into the crowd).
