Author Topic: Nintendo to kill off Wii U this year  (Read 4062 times)

The NX is totally just going to be the Wii U+ or something
Nintendo would never throw a console under the bus that fast unless there was a complete replacement coming

Maybe I'll pick one up at this point. Though you would think they wouldn't kill it off so quickly since so many games are coming out for it like Stairfax and Zelda.
We could have another similar situation as what happened with the Wii when Nintendo released their last big game, Skyward Sword in the Wii's case (Zelda Wii U in the Wii U's case), but atleast with the Wii Nintendo still released a couple of games and didn't cease production until 2013 with the Wii. It would be really odd if they actually did stop the production that early especially right after the big games are out.

The Wii U is older than I thought.

This is quite ironic though, as both my friends got Wii Us for Christmas. Hope they don't mind it being the old system again.

Watch the NX be better than XBone and PS4.

thought the titles were great, but for some reason it didn't sell to consumers. the gamecube had poor sales as well and it lasted 6 years.

Actually I might just wait a couple years until the Wii U emulator is working better. The Wii U will be abandon ware at that point too.

but the copyright for the games are still going to be very much intact

I can buy the Wii U games and play them via my disk drive. It would still be cheaper (and look better) just to wait and emulate that way in a couple years.

Why would you think you'd be able to do that?

in my opinion, i don't think games can ever truly be abandonware.

That's not an opinion that's denial of a fact >:(
