Author Topic: is vaping harmful?  (Read 14766 times)

Air contains water.

Water vapor in very low amounts isn't harmful.

Vaping is harmful due to the increased concentration of water in your lungs. It is the equivalent of inhaling steam from a boiling pot for a long time. Plus the nicotine.

Nicotine isn't harmful at all. It is highly addictive which is the reason why cigs are insanely addictive.

It's not water, it's nicotine oil. I doubt there is little if any water in vap oils at all.

I bought a vap and used it for about 2 or so weeks to quit smoking for my kids. Needless to say it DID quench my craving for nicotine (except for the morning and after-meal cig, those 2 are very hard to overcome) but for the most part I quit smoking cigs for 2 or 3 weeks. I was down to 2 or less cigs a day! I was proud of myself!!

Shortly after, I noticed in the morning I was waking up with this pain on a specific spot on my right lung. Toward the bottom. It was like...someone poking me very hard with their index finger right into my rib-cage, except the feeling was constant, even worse if I tried to "fake cough". I quit the vap and swapped back to regular cigs. Haven't had the lung pain or coughing since

Same. Wasn't he already banned once for it?

I am certain it's just water with some flavors and nicotine.

It's not water tho
It's glycerin

the thing is that's actually 100% true, if you were in a vacuum when you were about to die of old age you wouldn't die
if you were in a vacuum you'd die from vacuum exposure

Research will not be conducted on the subject because it is unethical to subject any populace, however willing, to potentially harmful chemicals.

That said, when brown townyzed, the gasses put off by vaping are consistent with those from regular cigarettes that have been shown to cause cancer and other health defects. Formaldehydes, Monoxides, and other new chemicals introduced by the synthetic "flavors" added to the jelly used (which itself greatly increases the carbon monoxide and other chemicals).

You know what it has less of though? Nicotine. Nicotine itself, while addictive, is not nearly as harmful as all of the chemicals that get packaged into a standard cigarette. An all natural cigarette made from fresh tobacco with no preservatives is relatively safe, and can actually be medicinal. Tobacco had long been used as a treatment by Native Americans for gastrointestinal issues.

What happens however, is people, addicted to nicotine and used to the amount used to satisfy their addiction, end up having to smoke more, taking larger draws, in order to gain the same nicotine high. This means that per draw, they are inhaling even more carcinogens, which in that sense place e-cigs to be far worse in my opinion.

And that is not even to consider the unknown effects that some of these new untested chemicals introduce, scientists have already begun linking vaping to a condition known as "popcorn lung" which considering how recent the technologies introduction to society is, it concerns me that we are already seeing such detrimental effects.

If you have to smoke, use real cigarettes, but otherwise, I would suggest just stick to weed, it helps fight cancer as opposed to inducing it.

that's because you didn't have a ciggie and you was experiencing withdrawal.

He was.
I was never banned, but I appreciate your concern.

Something like that. My dad's GF also switched to a vap pen and had the same issue, but she was still smoking cigs the whole time she used it. I guess they don't agree with each other too well...
