The reason I mentioned the tension system is because starting a world war in 1897 is silly

But it's entirely your fault that the war is even happening. It shouldn't matter when it starts if there's a legitimate reason for the war to happen. You didn't uphold a formal agreement, but instead stole land and aimed to hide behind an alliance of two other superpowers to ICly avoid consequences.

What's silly is using that tension system that is a largely ooc measurement system as a shield to avoid consequences for your IC actions. I don't see how you can even remotely justify that.

I don't see why you guys always get crusade-y about things not being historical when a-historical things always happen. This is already alt-history with an alliance of Japan, Russia, and Britain, a world war in 1897 because Japan stole islands from Germany is not silly, its completely fair.

meanwhile china continues to improve their military by building more torcreep ships and adopting increasingly modern armaments.

cadets are sent to germany to study and train under the german navy and army

We aren't people, we are countries. Sure, we may diplomatically seek information and chat a little bit, but we are ROLEPLAYING. All unrealistic disregards for a nation's intentions, in order to put the world in the hands of a set of friends, obviously played out before the game even started, is metagaming in my opinion.

This isn't a clan circlejerk, we are playing highly in-depth countries with their own backstories (ones that we didn't decide). This is what makes these Nation RPs different from Earth x.0 RPs. Turning DRAMATIC courses (this is alternative history, after all) in order to help a friend, not a country, is dumb. If the country you are helping actually has no reason to like you, you can't like each other. Period. The people have tensions, the government has tensions, therefore you must have tensions.

We aren't reading a textbook and playing it out, but we definitely aren't throwing one away.

However, I'm not talking about the current situation.

Japan allying Germany to cuck it into giving it islands is indeed loving brilliant, however, there should be a little bit of unrest for undermining a friendship that was just formed (in the eyes of the citizens).

More troops sent to Korea. Troops occupying the country already clinch the capital and major cities. And more come from villages to reinforce.
Seeing how you are already occupied with Germany this would be a waste of troops (unless you have plenty to spare), you must really want to keep Korea, eh?
Korean troopers are sent to the Korean Capitol to recapture the city, 20,000 troopers are present backed up by artillery, giving the Japanese Government one last chance to pull back their soldiers.

I have not used the bulk of my military. I have a naval fleet at a single German port. I have the rest of my army and a good deal of the navy to deal with you.
And are you going to bombard your own capital?

I'm not trying to avoid the consequences all together. What I did was forgetin shady and I support it wholeheartedly. I just want to delay consequences because the world is not yet ready for a war. This what the tension system is all about.

I think it would be very reasonable for Germany to declare war on Japan for:
1) Breaking an alliance
2) backstab
3) Lying
4) diplomatic insults
5) "stealing" stuff

And are you going to bombard your own capital?

the world is not yet ready for a war.
Korea simply wants freedom, one day Japan came over here and started telling Korea what to do.

the chinese northern fleet shows up near the german treaty port being besieged by the japanese navy, with shiny new battleships and torcreep boats
