I've noticed that newb servers and other such things have really long titles 'n such when they're calling for a friend to visit. I thought of this to shorten server names and let people actually get their thoughts out without running out of space on the main menu.
I've really only gotten to finish a list of Server Shorthand abbreviations, but I think they cover most of the stuff they're supposed to well.
Update 1; 2/1/08: I forgot to add the FB and BU tags. D'oh. Also by Laremere's request I have added the <server shorthand/details> section.
Server Shorthand
Defines what a player's server is like in shorthand.
First Pair
VE; Some sort of vehicle-associated server; For instance, racing.
RP; A Roleplay Server
DM; Obviously, a deathmatch.
TE; A Testing Server, for new add-ons, maps, and the like.
CH; The server is some sort of challenge, like a jump challenge.
FB; A free build.
BU; Some sort of organized build.
GE; None of the above.
Second Pair
CP; A Complex Server; For instance, one with a load of add-ons that are hard to use from the get-go, IE, wrench events.
SP; A simple server; With complex add-ons that most, if not all, people know how to use, like JVS doors.
BP; A basic server that only features add-ons that are easy to use right from the get-go, like the Pulser.
Server Detail
Server detail is always placed BEFORE the last note, in between hyphens.
FM; The server has a forced minigame.
LL; Put simply, the server has a long load, bricks or otherwise.
Last Note
N; The server is hosted by someone new, like in the 3000s or higher.
V; The server is hosted by someone who's been on Blockland for a fair amount of time, like -1000s.
C [ID]; The server is looking for someone with the specified ID, like if the host is calling for a friend, or something.
For instance, if you're hosting a racing server with complex add-ons, a fairly long load, and a forced minigame, you'd want to write something like-
"[Server name](VE,CP -LL FM-)"
I thought this would be of some use, honestly. If you have anything else to add, feel free to post.
