Who really wants realistic graphics?
is this an actual question

Colors are terrible, less detail is good. Who really wants realistic graphics?
I like the detail of civ 6, the oversaturation just kinda makes it look terrible

is this an actual question
Yes, I didn't mean it in general though. What I meant was, who really want's realistic graphics in a game like Civ? Civ 6 already looks to be a lot cleaner and easier to 'read'.

I thought Civ was special in that it looked realistic and pretty as well as the UI being easy to use

Realistic is good for first person games but I like simple graphics on games like this. Colorful and cartoony is nice.

speaking of the UI, are there any pictures of it that I'm somehow missing

i think the boardgame-y style definitely fits the civ series, though the saturation should go down a bit

no, not yet. the UI is just the other thing that set Civ apart from other nation simulation games

same, i dig the new look. regardless, i'm sure if they're building the engine with modding in mind that there will definitely be mods to change how it looks. but ya i could see it looking a lil better if it were a bit less saturated

i like the direction they seem to be taking though. civ v definitely did have some definite "good" ways to play the game and i'm glad they're going to try and fix that a bit (though i don't think it's ever really possible to fix entirely in a 4X game). more modding is good, civ v was pretty restrictive and it would be rad if mods could actually be potentially game changing

I like cartoony games more than these super realistic games out there

like Planetary Annihilation

One of the more recent firaxis games, xcom 2, had an engine built specifically for PC with modding in mind. I wouldn't be surprised if this game's engine was built in the same fashion.
