Author Topic: are these kicks worth 200 dollars  (Read 11238 times)

i wasn't saying anything about their marketing scheme but i can tell you that 0% of nike's shoes are made of plastic mate
I can tell you that you're wrong, and that Nike's shoes are made out of more plastics than I'm even familiar with by name.

http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2016/0511/Why-Nike-is-making-most-shoes-from-manufacturing-waste

Fun facts from the above article: "On Wednesday, the company said that 71 percent of its footwear now contains materials made from waste products from its manufacturing process, including ground-up pieces of old shoes and scraps from the company's factories."

"The company's Nike Grind material reuses scraps and old shoes by slicing them into three parts, then printing them into rubber bits, foam, or a fluffy fiber"

Sounds like some seriously artisbrown town stuff.

if ur gonna buy plastic it better be legos...........

dude those look super tacky lol if you're going to spend a lot on nikes get the retro high og

-snip-
there's nothing about plastic in that article save for the 3d-printed adidas shoe

Ew no.

Then again shoes like that simply aren't my style period, so of course I would think that. There definitely are some shoes that are worth $200 tho.

this is what its all about

in my opinion i wouldn't really spend over really spend that much on shoes, they might feel very comfortable but eh i don't think im just gonna throw $200 at a pair of shoes, partly because im jumping shoe sizes a lot as im growing. my current shoes are about $60, they're comfortable enough and actually work so i got no complaints.

the situation like this is kinda like when you buy headphones and you wouldn't really go for the super high quality headphones or a headset because you're either not rich or don't really want the high of quality because a cheaper one could service you too well enough just not needing to blow a ton of money for it. either that or you're buying really stuffty headphones at a way higher price.

the only reason i would see throwing a ton of money into it would be if you did something professionally with it. example, made music or did something else with sound and needed a fantastically preforming large range headset with a good microphone. or you just use a lot of money on your entertainment thats cool. buy what you want if you can i guess

Those are even worse than OP's.

You want to forgetin get them, get them, who gives a stuff about what you spend your money on.

They talk about using that same waste material to make running tracks. What are tracks made of?

My heart hurts if I spend more than $50 on a pair of shoes

Do NOT get those Jordans. If you are looking to get approval from sneakerheads then you will only find success with Jordan 1s through Jordan 14s, aka the shoes Mike played in.

Also do not listen to anybody who says don't buy shoes that cost over ___ dollars. 100% do not know what they are talking about.

shoes over $100 dont seem worth it to me. I have a pair of shoes my cousin gave me and that've been working well for like 1.5 years

Shoe companies must have genius marketing if people think shoes are worth hundreds of dollars.
