Author Topic: are these kicks worth 200 dollars  (Read 11140 times)

Wtf is up with that shoe? Why does it have like a leather corset stitched onto it?

Also, you don't ever get to complain about your shoes getting dirty or someone scuffing your shoes if you wear white ones.
You're just asking for them to get covered in dirt.

This kinda stuff is liquid diamond to us forget your gold and jewels
So you think spending over 100+ on things you wear on feet, going through dirt getting wet and stuff is worth it? It's a rip off, all you are paying for is the brand. If they were any other brand and the shoes were the exact same, they would be worth less.

didn't you spend 100 dollars or so on a blockland key

i have money. plenty of it. my waste threshold is beyond your comprehension.

no It is a rip off. The shoes literally cost under 50 bucks to make in a sweatshop and they are marked up at over 300-400% value because of the brand name.
no See above

I'm not saying you cannot buy it, just in reality what they are doing is a stupid as hell marketing scheme just to milk people of crazy amounts of money. In reality it just isn't a good decision.

Air Jordans are manufactured in China and reportedly cost Nike a bit more than $16 a pair. The Air Jordan 10s are listed on Amazon for $250 to $550 a pair, depending on the style and color. If that strikes you as a rather hellacious markup, welcome to the world of “luxury” goods, where the selling price is determined not by the cost of the goods, but by the status that buyers think they confer.

Nike, a true success story, makes profits by using sweatshops and child labor. Their human rights abuses have been well documented over the past four years. Currently Nike is in a major public relations campaign designed to clean its tainted image. They say they have made great progresses but have a strict policy of paying market wages instead of paying a living wage. They also admit that their facilities, in communist Vietnam, use child labor.

Michael Jordan therefore not only supports but, endorses the use of sweatshops and child labor.

Yes.

the first one has no proof whatsoever and does not come from a credible source
the second one is from 2008, comes from a personal blog, and seems to be just an article with no evidence whatsoever as well
