After 15 minutes, it automatically logs you out and updates. What the forget.

Regardless of your feelings for or against Windows 10, I think it's safe to say that hitting a red X doesn't count as accepting the update.

If this "feature" caught you, you can revert to your previous version of Windows by declining the EULA.

EDIT: Since multiple people have requested it, you can use the GWX Control Panel to restrict or prevent Win10 updates. The program provides a series of buttons you can press to toggle Windows update features on and off, disable or enable the icon in your system tray, delete the downloaded upgrade, etc. This won't prevent you from getting the update later if you so choose. You'll just have to open it up and revert your changes.

Microsoft continuing to be insanely stupid.

for the last time microsoft
no thanks I'm fine with my current version of the windows operating system

in order to completely cancel it you must take your computer apart to change a few electrons in the harddrive

i have no idea how computing information in the physical world works

fun fact: the november update removed the metered connections feature so now windows updates will always install as soon as they come out and not wait till you're on a non metered connection where it's restricted until a month has passed and you have additional data.

loving microrichard cut this stuff out already

my computer randomly shut down on me and upgraded to windows 10 but at least i have a month to revert

If everything wasn't on windows I would switch to a new os

but at least i have a month to revert
with the lengths they are going to to make people use their new thing I'm surprised they still have that feature

Microsoft tried to force my dad's desktop computer to upgrade to Windows 10. I tried logging on to it the other day and it was all messed up with a welcome message saying "welcome to windows 10! :)"

I immediately declined to accept their ULA when they tried to proceed with setting up the Win10 OS, which luckily sent the computer into a restore mode and it returned to Windows 7 after a few minutes. I quickly went and installed GWX control panel after that.

Windows 10 looks good.

but im good with 7

The fact that microsoft is purposely trying to trick people in downloading Windows 10 Is completely unacceptable for a corporation worth billions of dollars.

My windows 10 laptop is forgeted up, it keeps on crashing for no reason and sometimes when I unplug my changer from my laptop, it shuts off and no I have no malware nor virus on here.
OT: Why the forget is Microsoft trying get people to download Windows 10?  That just sad.
