blew my leg off so i could feel what being a cripple war vet is like, no regrets
i chopped of all my limbs so i could experience being a potato, no regrets

i broke all my bones today to see what it was like to be born with glass bones and paper skin

no regrets baby
i enjoy every moment of it

i decided to spend my entire life on a decade-old sandbox game to see what its like to suffer because of game addiction, no regrets

starbound is a pretty bad game
you are wrong and will always be wrong

I didn't suffer from game addiction; I enjoyed every minute of it.

Specifically 2000+ hours on TF2.

(I'm still a terrible 6v6/Highlander medic to this day, apparently)

starbound is legit like, fundamentally flawed. gather resource A to get to planet B gather resource B to get to planet C to gather resource C to get to planet D is not fun. dungeons/prebuilt structures are only interesting the first time you see them. there are next to no meaningful NPC interactions. the difficulty scaling was always such so that your current gear was infuriatingly low TTK on a new planet and going back to old planets was such a cakewalk it didn't feel worth doing. the planet system precludes any permanent buildings outside your ship unless you want to do the stuffty tenant system.

if you want a good 2D exploration game with crafting and boss fights, play terraria.

actually I like starbound. I didn't think I would but I tried it and I did. a lot more than terraria
