it's called lgbt pride and you mean to tell me its not about being proud of being lgbt

I would say gay pride is also about being proud about your loveual/gender identity, given that society will give one a hard time for not conforming to straight/cis. It's also just a good opportunity for solidarity and a reason to party. (Straight people can join in obv)

by representing different loveualities in pride you slowly bring the world closer to equal acceptance

all humans aren't being oppressed by their loveuallity, infact only a small minority of them are because biologically hetroloveuallity is the majority

maybe I'll have some pride in humans as a whole when they become accepting and can see past the little box they were conceived in

I am merely bringing awareness to gay pride because people are oppressed on a global level because of there loveuallity and thats something that needs to be fixed, and will be fixed one step at a time, but not because I am proud to be gay

LGBT people can still be fired or evicted for their loveuality/gender identity in 30+ states, IIRC.

Even pretending that the US or the western world prevented legal discrimination for those reasons, the LGBT youth homelessness rate is really crazy (like 40% of homeless youth are LGBT or something) and the Self Delete rates are also really high. Also particularly trans people seem to be murdered a lot.

So I wouldn't say we're as far from the Uganda level as you think
