I'll celebrate gay people in Uganda where that stuff is criminal but I don't care about loveually confused teenagers in the first world
LGBT people can still be fired or evicted for their loveuality/gender identity in 30+ states, IIRC.
Even pretending that the US or the western world prevented legal discrimination for those reasons, the LGBT youth homelessness rate is really crazy (like 40% of homeless youth are LGBT or something) and the Self Delete rates are also really high. Also particularly trans people seem to be murdered a lot.
So I wouldn't say we're as far from the Uganda level as you think
