My favorite cat companion has gone missing for 8 days

One neighbor said that they saw a gray cat and tried to catch it but she ran off! And would totally seem like Mazie!
After searching 3 roads; nothing.

But when I came home, I saw a gray cat in our backyard! Coming out excited I yelled for Mazie, but she ran off.

Later my stepdad told me to come out with the food bowl and sit shaking the bowl (every time I feed cats, I shake the bowl to get attention, the familiar in theory would attract her). But I had absolutely no luck.

Today my mom will be sending out posters for missing cat.

I was looking around for Mazie again and I JUST saw her! We we're frozen eye to eye together and then I crouched down and called Mazie over.
But since she's so freaked out, she ran RIGHT past me.

Just now my stepdad set out a harmless trap for a Raccoon, but hopefull it will get Mazie. To attract her, Tuna and that awesome laundry smell she is use to, she will come into the trap, and it will close on her.

The whole situation is on you and your family for not allowing your cat to get familiar with the outdoors. Just because she's an indoor cat doesn't mean she should be penned up inside all the time. She probably wouldn't be freaking out like she is.
