Literally read their holy texts and then come back.  Christianity too.  Anyone who is a true believer in those religions is obligated by it to commit violence towards certain groups, according to the Bible and the Koran.  

Most 1st world 'believers' in these religions don't follow them to the letter, not even close.  I'd know because I've read both the Bible and the Koran in their entirety.  Ask your average christian in the USA if they've read the whole bible, they haven't.  They're not actually that religious, it's more of a self delusion to fit in with their local communities.  So yeah, Islam is one of many things that does cause terrorism, and it's by far the most prominent of them right now.
