there will be no rejoining if the uk leaves
Never say never, really.

It would depend on the length of time. We've upset a lot of current members of European Parliament, but they won't be there forever, and neither will our government (or even parliament), and our views as a society may change over the decades.

But yeah, if we leave today we're not rejoining in 2020.

how about u guys just join the US
we actually have dentists here

If we leave and ever decide to rejoin again, we'd almost certainly have to adopt the Euro and sign up to the Schengen Agreement. I doubt the EU would ever allow us to rejoin on our previous terms, not to mention how awkward the situation would be.

well we put fluoride in our water to keep our teeth clean and our IQ average low

this is sounding less like a uk stay or leave and more like an estranged couple with make up or break up

After we got together Europe got too fat and lost her figure, and only wants to get bigger.

I'm pretty surprised you're pro-leave.

I'm really interested to see how this turns out. Even if Britain left the EU, they wouldn't immediately get rid of their "shackles". It would be the start of a long-winded negotiation process based on an obscure article of the "Treaty on the European Union". So yes, nobody knows what would happen, as there has been no precedent for anyone leaving.

Also, half of the stuff the British papers write about the EU (the articles about sausages, cucumbers and whatnot) are sensationalistic bullstuff.

im happy its going to be over soon because the news has been nothing but scaremongering rubbish on both sides

My family voted remain and I completely support this action. I feel like we're much better off if nothing changes. If we leave tomorrow I predict business will forget up for a few days, the stock market will become instable, etc. Not to mention that no matter what we do we will still have migrants (a lot of people in the UK want to leave because of immigration) and things like my college funding and trust fund are going to lower because they are endorsed by EU businesses.
