I wasn't talking about criminals, I was talking about misguided men who want to take up arms. However, criminals tend to get their guns the same way. Which is why it needs to be harder to get one. Background checks--at least where I live--are nothing but a formality.

Criminals, do not obtain fire arms that way. I do agree the background should be pushed harder so that the mentally ill can't obtain them, but criminals will always get fire arms smuggled in for them.

a bunch of gun happy idiots walking around with guns sounds like a great idea. how many would-be harmless fights would escelate to shootings if "everyone could arm themselves"? how many gun related accidents would occur? im all for people being allowed guns, assuming theres sufficient background checks and training they go through to own them.

I think you're getting gang fighters mixed up with mass-shooters. Hardcore Gamers are usually middle-upper class white men with mental issues. I don't think most of them would even know where to illegally but a gun. I certainly wouldn't. What's far more likely is that they would steal it from a relative or friend--which is why they need to be kept securely.
