For some reason offline unturned is fun in a building and surviving sense, to me at least.

If you want to build stuff try SimplePlanes its also pretty good

you looking for specifically 2d/low-power-usage games?
Because if you're good with 3d, i'd say install Portal or Portal 2, download a bunch of community maps before you leave (there are TONS and TONS of them) and play through them on your flight.

Rimworld is an excellent Dwarf Fortress styled game. Same art aesthetic as Prison Architect as well as very similar gameplay. It should be on steam in July, but you can buy it on the website.
