Not so much when he says "you cunt", followed by the comments about being a weak child. The word is used both endearingly and as an insult. Unless I'm mistaken, McJob was calling Jitank a cunt in a negative way.
Calling people cunts is my favorite australian thing. It's the perfect catch-all name to call someone. Like, it doesn't even matter if it's negative or positive, you just call them a cunt and let them figure out what it means based on the tone. I think it's hilarious.

then why don't you go ahead and do it
I dont condone disrespecting people. If somebody killed dog, should i go kill theirs?
I'm sorry, are you oppressing my culture? I'm Australian, you see. It's extremely offensive to me when people try to censor my loose mouth.
Well im sorry that i had no clue that how you meant to use the word because where im from it means something offensive. Im not censoring you but if you meant that with negative intent, its extremely disrespectful.

If I say I'm not a historian are you going to sprint off while saying I'm a moron?

I think I did a good job on that already. Since the both of you don't seem to have an equal footing on american history (in the sense that you suck at history), criticizing him is just useless and counter-intuitive

I just find it funny how the definitions of 'cunt' and 'mate' are kind of reversed in Australia.
For future reference; calling somebody a 'cunt' endearingly implies that you trust that person enough to not take offence to you calling them a derogatory term, which in turn make it one of the greatest possible compliments for an Australian to give, since Australian culture is geared entirely toward a more relaxed "do what you feel like" environment.

Also, as Dreams of Cheese said; it's loving hilarious and I'm all about having a bit of a laugh.

Yeah, but I'm not where you're from. I'm where I'm from and it's not even the worst I could have called you in our language. The fact you're picking on my language rather than my arguments means something significant.

I think it's amazing how it's been adopted pretty much by all Australians in that double-sided manner, despite being an extreme word in other english-speaking cultures.
I can understand and expect calling friends 'stuffs' or 'richardheads', but the idea of casually calling my mate a cunt shocks my little english heart.

That's not what 'being good' at US history means. Understanding history means understanding how individual historical events play into long term historical trends. In other words, recognizing the fact that a long-standing history of poverty and government-enforced segregation among a certain group of people is going to have reverberating effects that last longer than just a couple of generations.
I gave you a simple question as a joke dude jesus christ

That's actually very interesting. Where does 'mate' play into this? Is it always an insult?

Poe's law, dude. Ironic stupidity is indistinguishable from genuine stupidity on the internet.

From what I've observed while watching an Australian in the wilds, mate can be a term of endearment unless it's used in a hostile environment, then it's used as a disparaging term

Ok so lemme just clarify for you that you have ignored the clear facts i presented accouple of pages ago needless ro say we dont not agree with eachother. Secondly, no one is picking on you language. If cunt is referred to as something bad where im from, im gonna take offense unless you tell me that what it means in your culture. With that being said, with the way you're coming at me, i doubt that im a "highly trusted freind"

Nah, it's not like anyone expects anything else from you
bro what's your problem

i doubt that im a "highly trusted freind"
Damn I never would have guessed that

bro what's your problem

I think I would have a problem if you started to post things that were worth reading, because that would seriously subvert my expectations.

you're attacking me because of the way i live my life

I dont condone disrespecting people. If somebody killed dog, should i go kill theirs?
i don't think you understand what disrespect is
if someone kills your dog and you go kill theirs it's called revenge
if someone calls you a friend over the internet it's just an insult and you should ignore it
you're getting angry over being called a word

you're getting angry over being called a word

We're all getting angry at words right now, friend. The dude doesn't like to be called names, is it really that big of a deal?
