Damn I never would have guessed that
ok then so your saying that he means it negatively and that im right to feel offended?

We're all getting angry at words right now, friend. The dude doesn't like to be called names, is it really that big of a deal?
well he's the one who made it a big deal
instead of just walking away/ignoring being called a cunt by mcjob he had this huge forgetin cry about disrespect

The dude doesn't like to be called names, is it really that big of a deal?
That reminds me of a kindergarten teacher I had

instead of just walking away/ignoring being called a cunt by mcjob he had this huge forgetin cry about disrespect

He's making a point that he was able to hold his own ground in the argument without resorting to personal attacks, which was then misinterpreted that he was "triggered" because he was called a meany meany bad word

To be fair, he did articulate his point really badly

That's actually very interesting. Where does 'mate' play into this? Is it always an insult?
"Mate" is used towards people who you think are very soft and can't take criticism at all; people who are very uptight and don't gel with the relaxed atmosphere we dig. It can also be used towards people you look down on, in a kind of sarcastic "if you think we're friends think again" sort of way.

It should be noted these are unwritten rules and there are plenty of people who don't use the words the same way the younger generations do. A lot has changed in Australian society in the past 30-odd years that have made us much more relaxed, fun-loving and just "chill" which is where a lot of these rules are coming from.

you have ignored the clear facts i presented accouple of pages ago
You made no effort to demonstrate how the "facts" were relevant to the argument you and I were having, which is that slavery still has effects on you today. You just showed a bunch of statistics and some puff pieces on highly circumstantial evidence.

Secondly, no one is picking on you language.
And nobody is being tribal here. I'm doing exactly what you're doing, except I'm applying it to my own culture instead of your race issues so that you can see how ridiculous you sound.

If cunt is referred to as something bad where im from, im gonna take offense unless you tell me that what it means in your culture.
Why should I? It's not my job to keep track of every culture on Earth and know who is offended by what. You're the person who is getting offended at some cunt on the Internet arguing with him. I'm just talking, and it's not even like I'm outright bullying you here.

With that being said, with the way you're coming at me, i doubt that im a "highly trusted freind"
First correct argument you've made all day, mate.

How can you be relaxed when you live in Australia

this, how do you not suffer knowing you lost the great emu war

1) Maybe i didnt but the articles i presented were self explanatory at least in my opinion. I could be wrong.
2) Thats simply not true. Sure, most people dont intend to be tribal; stereotypes are one thing can can propetuate racism. I heard friends of mine say that i "act white" or "talk like a white person" and while it may not be intentional, its still tribal. Tenzuni has a misconception of black people that makes him tribal.

stereotypes are one thing can can perpetuate racism.
Hate to break it to you but stereotypes exist for a reason
I heard friends of mine say that i "act white" or "talk like a white person"
I'll agree that your friend was being a richard
Tenzuni has a misconception of black people that makes him tribal.
How is stating facts collected by the FBI tribal

i may well have this wrong since i haven't rly kept up as well, but i think it's the fact that he was using those facts to construct the argument that uhh...black people are like, naturally terrible people

which is uhh

pretty tribal. on a scale of 1-10 it's probably pretty up there it has to be said

Stereotype exist becuase they are easy. Why take the time to get to know someone when a stereotype says it all. I, however, dont abide by this.

Those statics are racial, not socioeconomic.

Are you implying poverty is why they murder more?  So you're saying there's more poor blacks than whites?
Whites outnumber blacks by a wide margin.  There's even more poor whites than poor blacks.

So even if poverty was the sole reason for the violence, it would mean White people ought to be the most murderous by proportion.  But that's not what the statistics show.  Blacks are by far, the most murderous.  It's their nature, by culture, DNA or both.
He's using the facts to say that black people are inheritly more prone to violent crime simply because they are black, even going so far as to say that violence is hard-coded into their DNA. The facts themselves, however, aren't tribal, and are perfectly valid.

Then please explain for people like me. I didn't get it.

Stereotypes are derived from common, outstanding attributes and behaviour patterns. While stereotypes might be outdated and in some cases oversimplifed, they exist on the basic human need to simplify patterns down to their most basic level. It's a survival skill our ancestors became excellent at to help them identify threats in their environment which has kind of backfired in this modern society.

It is ridiculous to assume people can easily overcome what is part of basic human nature, and still serves some use in today's environment (for example, you probably wouldn't want to walk up to some guy in hoodie brandishing a knife).

and while it may not be intentional, its still tribal.

Racism is a very intentional act. The saying "racism can be unintentional" is one that constantly irritates me; people are very capable of saying things which don't describe their intent, whether by accident, sarcasm/joke or so on.

Tenzuni has a misconception of black people that makes him tribal.
I'm not Tenzuni and I won't speak on his behalf since I can't physically know if what he said is what he actually believes.

The facts are not tribal; they're facts. His conclusions are his own, and they are incredibly tribal.

Stereotype exist becuase they are easy. Why take the time to get to know someone when a stereotype says it all. I, however, dont abide by this.
Outside of what I already explained, you also need to understand that you are also stereotyping as of right now. See if you can work out how. No cheating...

You can't change human nature, mate. It's in our DNA.
