Author Topic: Stop using MediaFire as download links please!!  (Read 10649 times)

Guys, this guy isn't lying. I had to kill Chrome with the task manager because a site was giving me popups. Now whenever I download from mediafire I have to close the tab ASAP when I hit download so it can't load some stupid thing that's saying my computer has a virus and won't let me leave the page. I have uBlock, and it doesn't stop the redirect. It redirects to TrackXYZ or Track222 or something like that sometimes, which is the one I had to force-quit.
Exactly same here

I don't always get the scary malware sh!t... it is rare but im just saying if Mod creators could just please not use Mediafire anymore... use DropBox please...
I dont have any viruses or malware stuff like that.. it just appears.. and it tells you to download this and call this number...
why do you always use ellipses?

MEGA is old
... It's from 2013. Do you know how old mediafire is?

why do you always use ellipses?
they... are... in... this... year... didn't... you... get... the... memo....................

been using mediafire for years, never had a problem with it

MEGA is old and stuffty.

I think you're thinking of megaupload, which was taken down

I have always hated Mediafire. Sure it's not as bad if you use adblock, but if you have to use browser addons to make the website tolerable than it's a stuffe website.

Blockland has used Mediafire since the beginning, I use it all the time and I never get problems with the correct Adblock software.

dont be so selfish kiddo

I've ever had any problem with Mediafire while running Adblock and Adblock Plus.

MediaFire is only okay if you are not making us download a thousand files with it. My only real problem with mediafire is that the page moves when I try to click download and makes me go to the upgrade page by accident.

Once upon a time I
downloaded addons via mediafire and it opened a malware website so i closed it off and never got a virus

the end

mega is gay because it doesn't show me the download is done when i'm on another tab on my browser and i have to restart the download (which takes forever for some reason)

Stop using Adblock and use Adguard. Not only does it remove ads, it protects you from harmful websites and blocks pop-ups instantly (for the most part, if the website doesn't evade it). The best part is that it's completely free and you can get it as an extension.
