It's a MetroidVania type game like Cave Story, it's on Steam.
And Kero Blaster.

Gmod and TF2 if they haven't been added

i think people use the terms must-watch and must-play too easily. like, i don't think the world has lost something deep because i didn't see episode 37 of seinfield.

or saying something is a must-play because it's culturally significant, like, why must i play the original worms? i guess if i loved the series.

a really great and culturally significant game, one of the first rpgs, if you're into those, is ADOM, Ancient Domains of Mystery. it's a massively detailed and incredibly fun little game from the early 90s. It's all text-based, but it even holds up today. main complaint is that the control scheme is really bad, compared to modern games. instead of optimizing with a few buttons like we do now, they  have the old habit of keeping a button for literally every possible action. so dont accidentally hit 7 on the numpad or you might convert to judaism.

also, it's the game that Corruption of Champions, the game nobody will admit they've played, is parodying. the random player mutations are ripped straight from adom.

Witcher 3 is a must play if you like RPGs

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Stealth/Action/Adventure - Playstation 2/3/Vita, 3DS, Xbox 360 - 2004
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - RPG - 3DS - 2012
Rhythm Heaven - Rhythm - NDS - 2009 (US)
Rhythm Heaven Fever - Rhythm - Wii - 2012 (US)

I see what you mean, I wanted to make this list to get a bunch of games to play that are iconic and ones that changed the industry, that sort of thing. After a while I'll probably go back over and remove titles I don't really think fit this category imo.

For people throwing up sequels to games in the list already; they wont be added. It'll just bloat up the list. The original serves as the entry for that, and other games in the series. Yeah, not all games in every series are good, but I'm not throwing up every entry in a series just to leave out a few bad ones, it's a waste of time

Any game that play's well, is fun, and defines a genre of games that usually suck more than it are what I would call must play.

You should add Narbacular Drop and Portal to the list too

okay, then you surely can't be using the term properly. "must watch" or "must play" suggests the user has seriously missed out on something. i think "recommended" is a term to suggest good or defining games.

I suppose you are right, they might be "must-plays" of that genre of game, but not a must-play game.

Most of the games put up aren't really must play's then are they? I don't think any game qualifies to that high of a standard.

Haven't been updating the op because I've been quite busy. I will try and do some tomorrow though
